Souls are beings from another dimension (Limbo) which overlaps with ours.
They evolved in a world with no ground. A world where there is no up or down, no left or right.

These souls are all born in our dimension and inhabit the human body like a hermit crab inhabits a seashell.
They mature with the body they're born into and leave it once they’re mature. The mature souls then cross over into Limbo through rifts in the interdimensional barrier. Sometimes, a soul is trapped in our dimension, appearing as what we call „ghosts“
