The year is 2135. The century of wars and conflicts is over. It’s the dawn of a new era: a time of great innovations and progress. But not all people benefit from these improvements...

-Big parts of the earth are still uninhabitable due to holes in the ozon layer, radioactive contamination and the toxicity of the atmosphere.
-there are only two world powers: the URC (United Republic of China) which is governed by a corporation & the „Heilige Union des erlösten Deutschland“ (Holy Union of the Redeemed Germany) which is governed by the church.
-The cities are made up of different sectors, the skyscrapers reach to the sky. The tallest one is located in Beijing and is 500 stories high.
-The wealthier/prestigious you are the higher up you live
-A majority of the habitable areas are covered in slums
-Overpopulation is a great problem and one has to buy the right to birth a child. (If it’s available)
-Children can be genetically altered before they are born in order to make them stronger, faster, more intelligent etc. Only the rich are able to afford that.
-The upper class can live over 100 years, the middle class 70 to 80 years and the lower class & slum dwellers count themselves lucky if they complete their 25th year.
-Many poor people in Beijing inhabit the „Underground City“ - old bomb shelters underneath the city
-Africa supports natural resources for the EFU & URC. Almost every inhabitant is a worker
-The EFU & URC are connected through a sonic maglev that covers the line from Berlin to Beijing in about 6 hours
-North and South America are infected with „Emendatium“ and inhabited by zombie-like mutants

Despite the injustice and the harshness of this time, a lot of people (mainly the rich) speak of a „Second Renaissance“.
